Getting a Second Opinion

Every successful business owner I’ve dealt with over the years would always get a
second opinion. That opinion could be a legal matter, a tax matter, estate planning
situation or business succession matter. They would always seek advice from a
professional or peer.
Business owners need to manage many aspects of their business and some of those things may not be something they are knowledgeable about. Like someone running a business, individuals face the same big decisions.
The best way to get information on something you strive to do is to ask someone who has what you are working to achieve. If you are trying to improve your financial status, health, career or investing you would pursue the opinion of a professional or peer.

Last year, I decided I wanted to improve my health and hired a personal trainer. I have known this person for 30 years and he is strong and fit. My goal was to get in better shape and live a healthier lifestyle. He charges a monthly fee and for that fee he plans a weekly workout schedule, meal plans and conversations to recap each week. It would be easy some days to slack off and just tell him that I did what we discussed. Since I am paying for his advice, I need to be truthful. He holds me accountable each week and we discuss ways to stay on track to reach my goals.
When I meet with a new client, I always ask for their budget, tax return, wills and trust documents. These documents give me an insight on how the client thinks about their lifestyle and the tools needed to plan for their future.
Some of the benefits of a second opinion include identifying gaps, new opportunities and risk management.
If you have a major life change or a complicated decision to make, then it is recommended to get a second opinion.
We can review your financial plan and make any adjustments if necessary. If no changes are needed, it can bring peace of mind knowing you are on track to reach your goals.
In some cases, getting a second opinion can be a pride or loyalty issue to their current professionals. Both are understandable, but if you are serious about planning for your future, getting a second opinion should be part of the process.
Expert advice can provide you with the tools to make the best decision for yourself and keep you on track to reach your goals.
